Her international career took flight in Spain, where she graced the stage as a soloist alongside prestigious ensembles including the Orquestra Nacional d’Espana, RTV Orquesta in Madrid, and the symphony orchestras in Barcelona, Bilbao, and Sevilla.
Her artistry has resonated globally, as evidenced by her extensive recordings for acclaimed labels such as EMI, Erato, EMS (Brussels), and Grammont (Switzerland). Critics have lavished praise upon her captivating performances, leading to invitations to serve as a jury member for prestigious international singing competitions worldwide.

As a professor of voice and musicology at the University of Örebro in Sweden, she is internationally recognised as a leading scholar in the field of voice science.
In 2003, Stenhammar established the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Music Competition (WSIMC) in memory of her father, a renowned Swedish composer. This esteemed competition offers a platform for talented young singers to showcase their skills and gain recognition on the global stage. Today, WSIMC stands as one of the most prestigious vocal competitions worldwide, proudly affiliated with the World Federation of International Competitions (WFIMC) since 2009.
